Rent a Bag with Metoyoubag & Giveaway

Bedauerlicherweise kosten diese oftmals ein Vermögen & nicht jede Frau kann/möchte sich das leisten, träumt jedoch auch davon, mit so einer Tasche durch die Strassen zu laufen. Angefangen hat alles damit, dass die Schwestern Elena (23) & Ekaterina (20) eine Liebe für Designertaschen haben. Ekaterina hatte sich schon länger auf die Marke Louis Vuitton spezialisiert & verkauft Vintage-Taschen des Designers. Als Elena dann eines Tages in London war, ist ihr aufgefallen, dass praktisch alle Mädels sich teure Handtaschen leisten können. Als sie die jungen Frauen ansprach, erklärten ihr dann diese, dass sie nur gemietet seien. Zurück in Zürich erzählte sie ihrer Schwester davon & sie begannen zu recherchieren. Überall auf der Welt werden Designertaschen vermietet, wieso also nicht bei uns, in der Schweiz? & so begann der Weg von Metoyoubag.

Seit Anfang dieses Jahres steht der Online Store Metoyoubag nun & läuft auch schon sehr gut. Mit ihrer Idee haben sie sogar zwei Start-Up Wettbewerbe gewonnen. Die Taschen, welche sie vermieten, gehören alle den beiden Studentinnen. So können Sie garantieren, dass auch wirklich jede Tasche original ist. Nach jeder Kundin werden die Taschen gründlich gereinigt & gepflegt, damit sie auch mit gutem Gewissen an die nächste Mieterin weitergegeben werden können.

Dabei gibt es ganz verschiedene Kundinnen. Einerseits Frauen, welche z.B. für einen speziellen Anlass eine teure Tasche haben möchten oder auch solche, die die Tasche ausprobieren wollen, bevor sie sich diese dann kaufen.

Was mich besonders interessierte war die Frage: Was wenn eine Tasche beschädigt wird? Ich selbst liebe Designertaschen ja auch & besitze auch einige davon, die Vorstellung, dass jemand eine richtig ruinieren würde…. – ich will gar nicht dran denken. Elena klärt mich auf: Normale Abnutzungen oder kleine Kratzer sind normal, dass passiert ja auch, wenn sie die Taschen selbst tragen. Würde eine Kundin wirklich einen grösseren Schaden anrichten, würde ihr dies natürlich verrechnet werden. Bis anhin hatten sie jedoch nie ein Problem & alle Taschen sind heil wieder zurückgekommen. Ausserdem hat praktisch jede Kundin eine Haftpflichtversicherung, die im Notfall einspringen würde.

Natürlich wollte ich für euch auch wissen, wie dann der ganze Ablauf einer Bestellung ist & wie lange man auf seine gemietete Tasche warten muss. & ich muss sagen, das Ganze ist super einfach: Man registriert sich auf Metoyoubag & wählt dann die Tasche aus. Danach entscheidet man sich, wie lange man die Tasche ausleihen möchte. Bezahlen kann man mit Kreditkarte, Paypal oder per Vorauskasse. Maximal zwei Tage später erhält man dann das Paket mit der Designertasche. Einige Tage bevor die Mietdauer vorbei ist, erhält man einen Reminder, damit man auch nicht vergisst die Tasche zu retournieren. Die Retoure verläuft dann wie bei Zalando, man hat die vorgedruckte Etikette, welche man aufs Paket klebt & anschliessen wird das Paket einfach bei der Post abgegeben. Super einfach, nicht?

What I really wanted to know was: What if a bag will be destroyed? I mean, I love designer bags & I have a lot of them & just the imagination that one of them would be ruined… - OMG I really don’t want to think about it. Elena clarified: Normal abrasion or small scratches are normal, this also happens if they wear the bags by themselves. If a customer would really destroy a bag, she would need to pay for this. But until now they haven’t had any problems & all the bags came back safe. Furthermore almost every customer has an insurance, which would help in a case of need.

Of course I also wanted to know, what the whole order procedure works & how long you need to wait for your rented bag & I really need to say, this is quite easy. You just have to register yourself on Metoyoubag & then choose the bag you want. Afterwards you choose how long you would like to rent the bag. You can pay with credit card, Paypal or prepayment. At the latest after two days you’ll receive your designer bag. A few days before your term of lease is over, you’ll get a reminder, so you don’t forget to send back the bag. Returning the bag is also very easy; it’s almost the same like Zalando. You just have to but the label on the parcel & bring it to the post office. Great, right?
